Basics Of How To Start A WordPress Blog
Here are some very simple steps on how to set up your first WordPress Blog. I recommend WordPress because of its easy of use and good support. I run multiple blogs using WordPress.
1. Purchase a domain. I recommend http://www.godaddy.com. Watch for discount coupons (sometimes posted at www.warriorforum.com) o save on the listed price.
- First do some keyword research to choose a domain name. Use https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal to get keyword ideas. This tools will give you an idea of the type of traffic volume you can expect from the keyword selection.
- Now go to http://www.godaddy.com and see if the domain name is available. If so, purchase it from them. If it is not available, you can consider other keyword suggested that Godaddy notes, or you can find a new set of keywords to use.
2. Sign up for a hosting account at Host Gator .
- I recommend a business account for $12.95 per month. This will allow you to host multiple domains on the same account.
3. Once you have your account created, setup your domain in the admin cpanel and install WordPress from the Fantastico de Lux button on the bottom of the admin panel in the software/services section.
