In this issue of the RAP Chronicles, I’ll cover some of the setup and configuration steps I went through to get my site up and running using  Rapid Action Profits as my affilate system.

The business model I decided to go with was offering several short reports (with high commissions) and a couple of bigger OTOs off the back end.  My site is considered a "mall", where all products are sold from the same domain.  There is a free bonus that comes with RAP – a special guide called "How To Build A Viral Ebook Empire".  This guide, in my opinion, is worth its weight in gold.  It spells out exactly how to setup a business model that allows you to quickly build your affilliates and drive traffic to your site.  It is  awesome report… one of the best I’ve read in a long time.

I’m a big fan of WordPress so I chose that as the platform for my mall.  RAP integrates nicely with WordPress.  The system files are installed in a subdirectory and the product files (for each product you have) are installed in subfolders as well.

Initially I thought I had a conflict with an index.php file but it turns out that it was user error (no surprise).

RAP comes with product templates (squeeze page, header, footer, sales page, OTO) – you name it, its there.  However, as good as they are, they are still templates and they need to be modified for your site!  The sales page is preloaded with some great guidance on how to build good sales copy.  One thing to keep in mind: YOU CANNOT USE A FREE HTML  SOFTWARE LIKE KOMPOZER OR NVU WITH RAP.  These applications drop some of the php coding necessary for the RAP payment button to work.  I learned this the hard way… banged my head on the wall for a couple of hours before researching the RAP forum for the answer.  Please learn from my mistakes. 

I now have 3 products loaded and it gets easier/faster each time.  Did I mention that RAP is an awesome piece of software?

On a final note… as I’m thinking through this business model I’m considering purchasing the RAP-Gone-Viral Addon that allows me to provide affiliates with rebranded pdf reports that they can send to their mailling list (and track their affiliate name for future purchases).  It looks good and it integrates seemlessly with  Rapid Action Profits.  I’ll let you know how that goes.

In Part 2 of the RAP  Chronicles I will cover the installation of Rapid Action Profits.

I mentioned in Part 1 that  over the past several weeks I’ve been working on a new website to sell several short reports and some back end products.  I decided to use my own affiliate program rather than Clickbank for this project.  After careful consideration, I selected Rapid Action Profits as the platform for my affiliate program.

Being a visual learner (and what I consider to be a slow reader) I first watched a couple of the Rapid Action Profit Training Videos from Josh Fulfer that show how to install the software.  Module 1 and Module 2 of the videos outline very well how to do this.  The RAP User Guide that comes with the software is 137 pages and covers everything you need to know to install and use Rapid Action Profits.

There are 7 general steps invol ved in setting up and using the RAP system on your own web host:

1. Create a MySQL database (a 5-minute, 3-step process)
2. Upload the Admin Panel scripts to your website
3. Upload the Product folder to your website
4. Run the Install script from the Admin Panel
5. Configure your Product settings from the Admin Panel
6. Testing your installation
7. Modify your Template files to customize for your product(s)

 These steps are not difficult and the videos help.  However, be sure to follow along in the User Guide as well.  There is more detail in the guide that is important to understand as you configure your product settings, which I will cover in Part 3.

Summary:  Installing Rapid Action Profits is really a no brainer for anyone familiar with working with an FTP software.  Remember, RAP has an excellent help desk, as well as a great support forum if you have questions.  Just be patient and follow the instructions.  If you run into problems, most likely its not the software or your system, its a mistake that you made!

I’ve been thinking about my implementation of Rapid Action Profits and thought it would be benefitial to you to gain an objective assessement of the overall purchase, installation, and implementation of RAP.  I have decided to document it in what I call RAP Chronicles.

In Part 1 I will cover the initial purchase of Rapid Action Profits.

I decided to take the plunge on the last day of the anniversary sale.  I recieved RAP for only $147, and that price included a couple of bonuses; namely the Rapid Action Profit Training Videos from Josh Fulfer.  The savings on RAP was $50 off the regular price as well as saving the retail price on the videos ($47).  Overall impression – A REALLY GREAT DEAL.

After pressing the purchase button I was redirected to a dlownload page with a link for the product and the bonuses.  Unfortunately the download links did not work.  As excited and impatient as I was to get the product, I immediately submitted a help desk ticket.  It only took about 5 minutes to get a reply, but during that time I realized I recieved a RAP email in my junk email box (why I didn’t see it right away) that included a download link that worked.  The video link download however, still did not work.

Since my initial interest in purchase RAP happened as a result of a posting on the Warrior forum by Josh Fulfer, I decided to PM him.  I received an immediate response as well as an operational download link.  All in all, I recevied all the products within about 20 minutes after the purchase.  I’m happy with that.

Summary:  For the price, my investment in Rapid Action Profits and the training videos was well worth it.  The minor download glitches were not annoyances given the immediate technical support I received to address the problem.  The downloads went fine and I was ready to install the Rapid Action Profits software (after watching the videos of course).  I will cover the installation of RAP in the next issue of RAP Chronicles.
